OBJETO DEL SITIO
Todo el mundo médico sabe que la radioterapia es una herramienta terapéutica utilizada, en sus diversas aplicaciones, para el tratamiento de diferentes formas de cáncer.
Lo que, por otro lado, es un tema importante a explorar se refiere a los efectos secundarios que trae consigo este enfoque terapéutico, con especial atención a las lesiones cutáneas: la radiodermatitis.
Hasta hoy, no existen directrices que ayuden a los médicos a abordar adecuadamente la prevención y el tratamiento de estas lesiones que implican dolor, ulceración, hinchazón, mayor riesgo de infección y riesgo de interrupción de la radioterapia, con grave impacto en la calidad de vida y en el éxito de las terapias mismas.
Este sitio ofrece la oportunidad de profundizar en el tema de la radiodermatitis y su tratamiento, a través de materiales de estudio como presentaciones científicas, enlaces a artículos de referencia, entrevistas a clínicos involucrados en el proceso de toma a cargo y atención de los pacientes con lesiones por radioterapia.
Ad oggi, non esistono linee guida che aiutino i clinici ad approcciare in maniera adeguata la prevenzione (3, 4) ed il trattamento di queste lesioni che comportano dolore, ulcerazione, gonfiore, aumento del rischio d’infezione e rischio di interruzione della radioterapia, con grave impatto sulla qualità di vita e sul buon esito delle terapie stesse (5).
